The Ambassador program was created to educate local employees, businesses and attractions about Winchester-Frederick Co as a destination.
Previously called the Tourism Ambassador Program, this training was created to educate local employees, businesses and attractions about the healthy local tourism industry. It will continue to offer front line staff and management alike the tools to better promote the area and engage with customers, but will also now include a broader array of information about the area and encourage participants to engage continually in their community.
This complimentary program will also include tourism industry information, a highlight of local and regional tourism assets, and front-line strategies on how to correctly engage with visitors to our destination and answer the oft-asked question, "what is there to do around here?"
Successful candidates will receive a certification of completion as well as a Destination Ambassador passport good for admission to numerous local attractions, and their businesses will receive a Destination Ambassador window cling.
Any business or attraction that interacts with visitors to the Winchester-Frederick County area is welcome to attend. These include but are not limited to: restaurants, hotels, real estate offices, farm markets, banks, shops and boutiques, convenience and gas stations, attractions, museums, libraries, and coffee shops.
The fall 2026 session will be held:
Tuesday, August 25 at the Winchester Regional Airport. Complimentary coffee and light snacks will be available, and a complimentary behind-the-scenes tour of the airport will be offered immediately following the course.
Attendees are strongly encouraged to arrive at least 15 minutes early to get settled so the program can begin and end on time.
The WFCCVB was able to partner with the Winchester Regional Airport and Top of Virginia Regional Chamber, who generously provided space for this training.
The Winchester-Frederick County CVB is a joint-funded tourism office that develops and promotes the thriving local tourism industry in our community. www.VisitWinchesterVA.com
