The Winchester Little Theatre will be conducting a stage reading of the War of the Worlds radio drama made famous by Orson Welles over 80 years ago. The radio adaption is from the novel, The War of the Worlds, by H.G. Wells. The radio performance was originally famous for being mistaken by listeners as an actual news broadcast of a Martian invasion which caused mass panic. The radio reading will be at the Robinson Auditorium in the Handley Library with two show times – October 27 at 7PM and October 28 at 2PM. Tickets are 25 dollars each and proceeds benefit The Winchester Little Theatre and the Friends of the Handley Regional Library. Patrons may purchase tickets online at www.wltonline.org.
