POSITION: Director, Marketing & Communications
REPORTS TO: CEO
STATUS: Full Time
GENERAL SUMMARY: This team member will develop, establish, and maintain marketing and communication strategies to meet the organizational objectives of the Chamber. This position requires effective management of the overall marketing, advertising, and promotional activities of the organization.
This team member will work cooperatively with other Chamber staff to establish and maintain positive relationships with partner businesses to foster a pro-business agenda. A high level of customer service, project management, marketing, and communication skills are required.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Marketing & Communications
- Develop a general knowledge of every aspect of the Chamber, and participate in office events, presentations, & functions.
- Collaborate with Chamber staff and committees on event marketing plans.
- Create and manage all marketing, advertising, and promotional activities of the Chamber.
- Create and manage Website content.
- Coordinate and execute all written and digital communications with the membership and general public including, but not limited to, the Chamber website, weekly and monthly newsletters, social media, press releases, monthly radio show, and video interviews.
- Manage the annual Membership Directory project, annual Website and bi-annual regional map project.
- Responsible for graphic design and project management for promotional materials including, but not limited to, banners, flyers, postcards, posters, social media ads, etc.
- Manage and grow business presence across social media platforms including, but not limited to, blogs, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns.
- Maintain and execute contracts with current advertisers.
- Establish and manage Marketing Partnerships with local media outlets and marketing partners to include contract negotiations.
- Liaison with Chamber photographer for all major Chamber events. Director of Marketing & Communications may act as the photographer for the event and use a camera and a phone camera as needed when a Chamber photographer is not present.
- Conduct market research to determine market requirements for existing and future products and services in relation to marketing and communications.
- Deliver marketing activity within an agreed budget.
- Manage Chamber committees and sit on outside committees as assigned.
- Monitor industry best practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the CEO.

- Knowledge of written and verbal communication skills in business English and composition

- Skilled in operating personal computer and latest software/hardware.
- Knowledge of general office practices and procedures, including basic budgeting processes
- Interest and inclination to continue job training through various means when called to do so
- Knowledge of all Chamber membership programs and benefits
- Creativity
- A bachelor’s degree or an associate degree (business, marketing, communications, or related field) or equivalent business experience, three to five years directly related, preferred.
- Minimum of one year of experience in Marketing.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Publisher, and Power Point)
- Proficient with Adobe Creative Suites (Most importantly, InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator)
- Proficient in Canva.
- Proficient in social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
- Experience with Constant Contact or similar email marketing software
- Familiarity in HTML, Hootsuite, and Survey program(s)
Licensure Required: Valid driver’s license
