Junior Academy so popular it's booked.  Within six hours of announcing the Winchester Police Junior Academy, all three sessions for 2018 were fully booked, said Cpl. Aaron Cave, director of the academy.  Cadets on Saturday got a taste of what law enforcement officers do every day--monitor traffic, attend briefings, communicate with emergency dispatchers and more.  At the end of the three-hour academy, cadets eared their badges and took an oath administered by Winchester Police Chief John Piper.  For more information about the Winchester Police Depart's Junior Academy, visit winchester police.org/junior academy.  Taken from the article in The Winchester Star dated April 23, 2018.

New Coffee Shop opens in Winchester.  Bro Bear Coffee opened last week at 1141 Berryville Ave in the former United Bank Building.  The couple, Jenise and Greg Hubert are passionate about great coffee drinks and take it very, very seriously.  Customers can't enter the building, but can get their order via a walk-up window or at the drive-thru window.  Bro Bear Coffee offers a wide variety of hot and iced coffee drinks, as well as smoothies, teas, hot donuts and oatmeal dishes.  (For more information see The Winchester Star dated April 25, 2018).
