Widget Cup First Place Winner!  Teams from Handley, James Wood, Sherando, Millbrook and Clarke County High Schools were challenged to design and build a 10-foot wide outdoor gate for the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley in Winchester.  Each eight-member team had access to the same donated materials and all the tools and equipment in Sherando High School's workshop.  Each of the five teams had one hour to design a fully functional gate, three hours to build it and five minutres to convince a panel of five judges that their project was the best.  The Museum of the Shendandoah Valley in Winchester was selected as this year's Widget Cup beneficiary after the facility shared its need for gates on its Amherst Street campus.  In the end, Clarke County High School walked away with the coveted Widget Cup trophy in the school's first year of competition.  (For more information see The Winchester Star article from April 7, 2018)
