The Top of Virginia Regional Chamber, in partnership with local law enforcement and fire & rescue agencies, is proud to host the 2026 Valor Awards, presented by Bank of Clarke, on Thursday, November 5, 2026, at Shenandoah Valley Golf Club.

Every day across the Top of Virginia, first responders, volunteers, and ordinary citizens answer the call to serve. Whether responding to emergencies, providing lifesaving assistance, protecting public safety, or stepping forward during a moment of crisis, their actions often make the difference between tragedy and hope. While these acts of courage and compassion rarely seek recognition, they deserve to be honored and remembered. The Valor Awards bring together law enforcement, fire and rescue personnel, emergency responders, elected officials, business leaders, family members, and residents for an inspiring evening dedicated to recognizing those whose actions have made a lasting impact on the lives of others.

Nominations are now open through September 25, 2026 for this annual event, which recognizes public safety professionals, volunteers, and citizens whose actions have demonstrated exceptional courage, dedication, leadership, and service to the community. The Valor Awards celebrate individuals whose commitment to others reflects the very best of the Top of Virginia and serves as an inspiration to us all.

Community members and public safety agencies are encouraged to nominate individuals who have gone above and beyond in service to others. Eligible nominees may have demonstrated extraordinary bravery in the face of danger, provided lifesaving assistance, shown outstanding leadership, or made a significant contribution to the safety and well-being of their community. Every nomination tells the story of someone who chose to put others first.

Following the nomination period, a committee of local leaders representing public safety agencies and the community carefully reviews each submission and selects the award recipients. This thoughtful process ensures that remarkable stories of courage, professionalism, and selfless service from across the region receive the recognition they deserve.
