Valley Health Business at the Bloom: 20 Years of Connection & Growth

Each spring, the Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival transforms the Top of Virginia into a vibrant celebration filled with tradition, energy, and community pride. For nearly a century, the festival has brought together residents, visitors, businesses, and leaders while creating a significant impact across the local economy.

Among the many events that define Apple Blossom season, Valley Health Business at the Bloom continues to stand out as a meaningful gathering for the region’s business community. Celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2026, the event has become much more than a luncheon—it has evolved into a cornerstone experience where professionals connect, collaborate, and engage in conversations shaping the future of the Top of Virginia.

Sponsored by the Top of Virginia Regional Chamber, this year’s event on April 28 welcomed more than 900 business professionals from across the region, including entrepreneurs, nonprofit leaders, executives, small business owners, and emerging professionals. The atmosphere reflected the collaborative spirit and strong sense of connection that continue to drive the Top of Virginia forward.

What makes Valley Health Business at the Bloom so impactful is its focus on meaningful connection. The event creates an environment where introductions become partnerships, conversations spark new ideas, and relationships continue long after the event concludes. For many attendees, it serves as an opportunity to reconnect with colleagues, strengthen professional networks, and engage with leaders from across industries in a setting that feels both celebratory and purposeful.

This year’s keynote speaker, Mark Nantz, President and Chief Executive Officer of Valley Health, delivered a powerful message centered on leadership, workplace culture, and investing in people. Through personal stories and real-world examples, he emphasized how trust, empathy, and intentional leadership shape strong organizations and successful teams.

One message resonated strongly throughout the room:

“Teams that care for each other take better care of others.”

His message extended far beyond healthcare, reinforcing the importance of creating workplace cultures where employees feel valued, connected, and supported. Attendees left inspired not only by the message itself, but by practical insights they could apply within their own organizations and leadership journeys.

Valley Health Business at the Bloom also highlights the unique connection between celebration and commerce during Apple Blossom season. The energy of the festival naturally encourages engagement, conversation, and collaboration, creating opportunities for businesses to build relationships, increase visibility, and strengthen connections across the community.

As the region looks ahead to the 100th Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival,  Valley Health Business at the Bloom continues to serve as a powerful reminder of what makes the Top of Virginia so special—a business community rooted in leadership, relationships, and a shared commitment to regional growth.
