Author Event: Brenda B. Nelson – The Life and Times of Robert Orrick

We are delighted to welcome Brenda B. Nelson to the Book Gallery for an author event. The Winchester-Frederick County recently released "The Life and Times of Robert Orrick" takes us to the 19th Century, where Robert Orrick was the best known African American in Winchester. While enslaved he began a hauling service which in freedom he built into a large livery service. US Mail Carrier, Methodist Minister, Farmer, Property Owner, Community Leader, Philanthropist, Orrick left his mark on Winchester. Explore his life's story and that of his family with insights into the economic and social relations of his time.
