Irmengard Lewis Exhibition and Opening Reception
Join us at Barns of Rose Hill on Nov. 4 for the opening of our newest exhibition featuring the extensive work of Irmengard Isabel Lewis! Doors will open at 4:00 p.m., and a brief program will begin at 5:00 p.m.
A resident of Clarke County for more than 50 years, Irmengard Lewis exhibited her work throughout Northern Virginia and the Shenandoah Valley, where she earned a reputation for her pen and ink illustrations of local landmarks.
Throughout her career, Lewis also excelled in a variety of other media, including oil and watercolor, often depicting scenes in nature. Affectionately known as “Irmly” among friends and family until her passing in 2014, Lewis was an avid naturalist and drew inspiration from her time in the countryside.
This exhibition is presented in partnership with Laurel Ridge Community College. Thanks to the Lewis family, proceeds from art sales will benefit Laurel Ridge Community College and the Barns of Rose Hill. Artwork will be priced to sell—take an original or print home with you! To register for the free reception, please visit laurelridge.edu/lewis.
Lewis's artwork will be on exhibition at Barns of Rose Hill through the remainder of the year.
