Kite Flying Festival

Come out to Sherando Park in Stephens City to enjoy an early spring day outdoors! Join the TVRC and Frederick County Parks and Recreation Department for the 10th Annual Kite Flying Festival! Members of the Richmond Air Force kite club will be on hand to discuss the science and history behind kite flying, demonstrate some high-flying kite tricks, and conduct some interactive activities! This year's logo was designed by a Frederick County Schools high school graphics design student.  All designs submitted by students will be on display.  Come support our public schools, Parks & Rec, the Chamber, local businesses, and our community!  A limited number of free kites will be given away to kids so come early! Food, beverages,  T-shirts, and kites will be available for purchase. Admission is free and the event is open to the public.
