In the modern U.S. many believe we have social systems to address the special issue of dysfunctional families; but the reality is that many fall through the cracks, and A Child of Royalty testifies and documents one of these events. It covers the life of a woman whose mother suffered from undiagnosed paranoid schizophrenia, whose father was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor that affected his mental capacities when she was 13, and a family where "head of Household" became the author - at age 17. This is Diana Ketterman's story.
Diana Ketterman has worked for the Department of Homeland Security/FEMA working in the Technology Support and Innovations Section of the Process Design and Innovations Department as a Program Specialist since 2009. Her primary job is to analyze existing projects and systems in order to design new technologies. In 2012, Diana graduated from the first Future FEMA Leaders Co-hort which allowed her to travel and learn about the interworkings of the department. While in the program, she had the opportunity to participate in NASA Space Camp, and to be mentored by some of our nation's chief executive leadership.
