Greater Good Award Nominations 2025
The Greater Good Awards recognize outstanding businesses and individuals who are dedicated to improving the quality of life and economy throughout the region. Chamber members are invited to nominate an outstanding business or individual to be considered for a greater good award. Completed forms must be received no later than Friday, January 31, 2025.
All nominees should be members of the Top of Virginia Regional Chamber and have lived or worked in Clarke County, Frederick County and/or Winchester City for the past three years. When making a nomination please consider each area of criteria listed below by which award winners will be chosen by a panel of past Chamber board chairs.
AWARDS CRITERIA
1. COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT – Explain how this business or individual is civic-minded and contributes to the community through management and employee involvement in civic, charitable, and community activities and endeavors. Describe their collaborative efforts within the business community and peers. Give specific examples of their excellence in business, government, education and/or volunteer participation in the community that has helped make the Top of Virginia region a better place to live and work. For an individual, list all charitable activities, political pursuits, religious affiliations, civic organizations, along with offices held and dates of service.
2. ETHICS/CHARACTER – Tell how this business or individual exhibits management principles and ethics that are reflected in total quality operations and product or service integrity. Tell why you think they symbolize the spirit of the Top of Virginia region and the true potential of the community. Indicate how they work for “The Greater Good.”
3. LEADERSHIP – Give specific examples of demonstrated leadership and how the nominee expresses a commitment to motivate others to achieve specific goals that address either corporate, community, or student needs. An individual nominee may have demonstrated pursuit of education or training to achieve a higher level of knowledge and expertise in business.
4. CREATIVITY – Describe any innovative products and services that have contributed to the growth of the company. Describe any innovative or creative ideas or activities that have been implemented that have benefited the community as a whole or any segment of the community.
5. ECONOMIC IMPACT – (For business awards) How does this business make a significant impact on the area’s economy?
6. GROWTH – (For business awards) Indicate how this business has a proven positive history of continued growth and investment in the community OR how the individual’s efforts have contributed to their personal growth and development or that of an organization or the community.
