D.A.H. Cuisines LLC, based out of Winchester, VA., is a licensed and insured catering company, owned and operated by Executive Chef, Kesha Harris. Our style of cooking is best described as “Elevated- American Cuisine with a French Flair”, incorporating French techniques in many of our dishes. Additionally, our culinary experiences span across various cuisines and styles.

Job Summary:
Onsite Catering Support Staff is responsible for assisting with event set-up and tear down, ‘back-of-house’ prep activity and ‘front-of-house’ service staff activity, in an as-needed capacity. Responsibilities include following the schedule of event activities set forth by the Executive Chef/Owner. Demonstrates the ability to manage their time effectively and efficiently and work in a high-pace environment.

Key Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Food Preparation: Assisting with food preparation, such as chopping and slicing, and monitoring food temperatures, as required.
- Food Safety: Ensuring food safety pre-, during and post events, and following health and safety guidelines.
- Event Set-Up: Setting up events, including buffet tables, table settings, decorations, etc. as it pertains to contracted catering services.
- Event Tear-Down: Setting up events, including buffet tables, table settings, decorations, etc. as it pertains to contracted catering services.
- Serving: Serving food and/or beverages to guests, and ensuring that every guest is attended to properly, as required per catering contract.
- Cleaning: Cleaning as-you-go and ensuring that the kitchen space and service areas are always clean and tidy.
- Stocking: Monitoring food levels and replenishing as needed.
- Unloading and Storing: Assisting with unloading and storing catering supplies/equipment, as needed.
- Collecting waste: Collecting food and non-food waste, as required.
Key Job Requirements:
- Must wear appropriate attire/uniform required for the specific catering job at-hand.
- Must maintain proper hygiene.
- Must always demonstrate cleanliness.
- Follows the schedule provided and adhere to any instructions from the Executive Chef/Owner.
- Maintains the highest quality and customer service standards.
- Immediately and discretely notify the Executive Chef/Owner when there is an issue.
- Completes onsite catering event activities under tight timelines even with competing duties and deadlines, with assistance from the Executive Chef/Owner.
- Participates in pre-event phone calls and/or meetings, as required.
- Arrives to event on time, prepared and with a positive attitude.
- Must have flexibility to work after normal business hours, if a weekday event, as required.
- Must have flexibility to work weekends, as required.
- Notifies Executive Chef/Owner at least 2 full weeks in advance, if no longer able to support scheduled event.
- Must identify and secure staff replacement, if Executive Chef/Owner is given LESS THAN 2-week advance notice of inability to support scheduled event.
- Adheres to the policies and procedures set forth by D.A.H. Cuisines LLC.
- Represents D.A.H. Cuisines LLC standards for dress, grooming and demeanor.
- Accepts and performs other duties, as required.
Minimum Education and Experience:
- Desire to have a minimum of 1-year prior experience working in the food/hospitality industry.
- Desire to have some on-the-job experience working in food/hospitality industry ‘front-of-house’ or ‘back-of-house’.
- Must have experience working in high-pressure work environments.
Licenses and Certifications:
- A valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to drive to and from event locations.
- Must have dependable means of transportation.
Work Environment:
This job operates at various professional venues and spaces indoors and outdoors. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to working in tight spaces and various kitchens with varying equipment. The employee is exposed to outside weather conditions, where events are held outdoors.
Location: Winchester, VA. and various other locations across the DMV. In some cases, bordering West Virginia counties.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform this position’s essential functions.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to be able to lift and/or move items up to 40 pounds. This position is highly active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and in some cases climbing stairs. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Physical Requirements Include:
- Ability to lift to 40 pounds.
- Ability to stoop and bend.
- Ability to stand an entire workday.
- Ability to use full range of motion.
