ATF VA Groundskeeper Worker

Job Summary:
The ATF VA Groundskeeper Worker is responsible for assisting the Supervisor with completing the lawn care and maintenance of the grounds, equipment, and vehicles.

Essential Functions:
• In coordination with the Landscaping/Grounds Maintenance Supervisor, the employee is responsible for assisting with all landscaping and grounds maintenance at the contract sites.
• Responsible for lawn mowing, edging, mulching, fertilization, weed control, shrub trimming, tree pruning, turf care, leaf removal, shrub spraying, and flower installation.
• Communicates any current or potential problems of significance as it relates to maintenance to property, grounds, and vehicles to the Landscaping/Grounds Maintenance Supervisor.
• Establishes and maintains excellent customer relations with vendors, business contacts, other community partners, and with NWW’s Board of Directors, directors, managers, staff, and workers.
• Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks to meet customer demands.
• Completes projects under tight deadlines even when there are competing requirements and changes in assignments.
• Participates in meetings, retreats, in-services, workshops, conferences, and committees as required.
• Arrives at work on time, prepared and with a positive attitude.
• Maintains accurate time records and related documentation and submits paperwork by established deadlines.
• Adheres to the policies and procedures of NW Works.
• Represents agency standards for dress, grooming and demeanor.
• Accepts and performs other duties as required.

Minimum Education and Experience:
Must be able to read, write, and count accurately.

Work Environment:
Must complete all security clearance forms before the start of contract and adhere to all security procedures, regulations and policies while working within the site throughout the contract term. The building ID must always be worn in plain view.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Physical Demands:
The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform this position’s essential functions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have full range of mobility in upper and lower body; be able to reach overhead; be able to work in various positions, including stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling and squatting for extended periods of time; be able to lift, pull and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks; and be able to frequently lift 30 pounds of weight throughout the assigned workday.

Physical requirements include:
• Ability to lift a minimum of 30 pounds.
• Ability to stoop and bend.
• Ability to stand an entire workday.
• Ability to use full range of motion.
