Freedom Alliance is looking for a motivated individual to serve as the Deputy Administrator of our Scholarship Fund who will impact young Americans whose families have served and sacrificed for our country. This individual will give college scholarships to the children of fallen or wounded military heroes and support events and activities which honor their families’ service.

Freedom Alliance is one of the Nation’s leading military support organizations. We are a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt educational and charitable organization which promotes America’s heritage of freedom and supports those who defend it. Freedom Alliance makes a profound impact on the lives of combat veterans and military families, helping them overcome the wounds of war and providing college scholarships to the children of heroes who have sacrificed life or limb for our country.

To further these efforts, we are seeking candidates to fill the role of:

Title: Deputy Administrator, Scholarship Fund

Position Description: Support the organization’s efforts to provide college scholarships to the children of fallen or wounded military heroes. Process applications, communicate with students and families, recommend approvals and awards for eligible students. Assist with outreach efforts to students for additional avenues of communication and engagement with the organization. Deliver first-rate service to students to convey our appreciation for their families’ service and sacrifice.

Primary Responsibilities:

    1. Scholarship Fund – Support day-to-day operations
        a. Process applications from new students to confirm eligibility requirements.
        b. Ensure receipt and integrity of required documentation from students and schools.
        c. Present recommendations for approval; notify students; deliver aid to schools.
        d. Maintain accurate records.
        e. Notify students eligible for scholarship renewal and process applications.

    2. Student Outreach – Support and coordinate engagement with students
        a. Support efforts to engage students with first-rate experiences.
        b. Recommend students for various forms of engagement to include retreats, conferences, media engagement, and more.
        c. Assist with the execution of retreats, conferences, media engagements, and more.
        d. Write and distribute monthly newsletter to scholarship recipients.
        e. Maintain records and documentation on events, achievements, and constituents.

Accountability and Qualifications:

    1. The Deputy Administrator’s performance will be measured by:
        a. Ability to meet scholarship goals and objectives and maintain excellent records.
        b. Maintain qualitative and financial integrity of the program.
        c. Build relationships with students, schools, families, and partners.
        d. Support events for students to convey appreciation for their families’ sacrifices.
        e. Ability to solve problems, implement solutions, and work with a team.
        f. Ability to inspire, have fun, and mentor in a positive and constructive manner.

    2. Qualifications:
        a. Desire to make a positive impact in the lives of very special Americans.
        b. Prior military service or family military service preferred but not required.
        c. Bachelor’s degree; 2-3 years of non-profit or similar experience.
        d. Knowledge of Gold Star / War on Terror veteran community is helpful.
        e. Travel and flexible work schedule required at times.
        f. Excellent computer skills such as Microsoft Office and Salesforce.
        g. Ability to work from headquarters in Winchester, Va., required.

This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and generous benefits that include medical/dental insurance, 403(b) retirement plan with 5 percent matching, and paid vacation and holidays.
