POSITION: Director, Event Management
REPORTS: CEO
STATUS: Full Time
GENERAL SUMMARY: This team member is focused on the overall planning, successful management, and effective implementation of the Top of Virginia Regional Chamber’s events. Responsibilities include event management, vendor relations, volunteer relationship management, collaboration on event promotion, establishing and overseeing the budget on all projects within the department, the development of new initiatives, securing and stewarding sponsors for events, and coordinating staff and volunteers for the execution of the events.
This team member will work cooperatively with other Chamber staff to establish and maintain positive relationships with partner businesses to foster a pro-business agenda. A high level of customer service, relationship management, time management, and presentation skills are required.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

- Greater Good Awards
- Business at the Bloom
- Top of the Tee Charity Golf Tournament
- Hob Nob in the Valley
- Wings & Wheels / Winchester Regional Airport Collaborative Events
- Valley BusinessWomen Night Out
- Valor
- Economic Summit
- Assist other departments as needed with the logistical support of additional events including but not limited to the State of the Chamber Annual Meeting, Policy Maker Series, Leadership Exchange events.
- Secure sponsorship for programs and events - annual and program or event specific
- Sponsor relations (event ticket management, commitment fulfillment tracking)
- Maintain accurate program information in the TVRC database.
- Attend other Membership events - ie ribbon cuttings, networking events
- Assist other departments in accomplishing tasks and events relating to Chamber goals and objectives.
- Prepare monthly reports and perform other related job duties as assigned by the CEO.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:

- Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
- Ability to collaborate with and manage volunteers
- Knowledge of written and verbal communication formats, business English and composition.
- Ability to communicate with employees and other business contacts in a courteous and professional manner
- Skilled in operating personal computer and latest software/hardware.
- Knowledge of general office practices and procedures, including basic budgeting processes.
- Interest and inclination to continue job training through various means when called to do so.
- Knowledge of all Chamber membership programs and benefits.
A bachelor’s degree or an associate degree (business, marketing, communications, or related field) or equivalent business experience, three to five years directly related, preferred.
- Experience in office and all related applications and customer service.
