Shenandoah Valley Westminster-Canterbury to Host 2nd Senior Living Economic Summit

WINCHESTER, Va. — Shenandoah Valley Westminster-Canterbury (SVWC) invites realtors, financial planners, physicians, attorneys, insurance agents and other professionals who serve the senior population to attend the 2nd Senior Living Economic Summit presented by Valley Health System on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, in the Grand Ballroom at The George Washington Hotel.
This informative summit will focus on the economic realities shaping today’s senior living landscape and explore key trends influencing housing decisions, financial planning, healthcare delivery, and long-term care options for older adults and their families. Attendees will gain valuable insights to better support clients as they navigate transitions in aging, care, and lifestyle. Designed to foster collaboration and provide valuable insights, the event will offer attendees practical information and timely perspectives on issues shaping senior living today and in the future.

9:00 a.m.    Melissa Andrews, President & CEO, LeadingAge Virginia: Melissa will draw on national data and policy expertise to provide a broad economic outlook for senior living. Her presentation will highlight current challenges, emerging opportunities, and key considerations that directly impact professionals working with older adults.
9:45 a.m.
    Chuck McWilliams, Managing Shareholder, Walsh, Colucci, Lubeley & Walsh: Chuck will offer a practical, client-centered legal perspective focusing on the most common and pressing questions he hears from his clientele—ranging from planning for long-term care and housing transitions to protecting assets and navigating complex decisions as needs change. 
10:15 a.m.    B. Franklin Lewis, MD, Board of Trustees, Shenandoah Valley Westminster Canterbury and
                     Leila Orndorff, Senior Sales Counselor, Shenandoah Valley Westminster Canterbury: Dr. Lewis and Leila will tag team the importance of moving into a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) before a health crisis occurs which can significantly improve long-term health outcomes, quality of life, and overall well-being.
