The YDC to Host Esports Open House at Downtown Winchester Location ?
WINCHESTER, VA — The Youth Development Center (YDC) will host an Esports Open House at its downtown Winchester location, 302 S. Loudoun Street on Friday, December 19th from 6:30PM-7:30PM. The event will introduce the community to the YDC’s new Esports program, which combines teamwork, strategy, and technology to engage local youth in meaningful ways.
Guests will have the opportunity to explore the new gaming setup, meet instructors, and learn how Esports can build collaboration, confidence, and problem-solving skills.
“Esports is a powerful way to meet young people where they are and open the door to learning, confidence, and leadership,” said Sarah Fishel, Executive Director of The YDC. “It is inspiring to watch a program rooted in fun become a space where skills grow, friendships form, and young people discover what they are capable of.”
Scott Braithwaite, YDC Board Member, added, “This program gives students a chance to discover new interests, work as a team, and develop valuable skills that extend far beyond the game.” The Esports Open House is free to attend.
Registration is available online at myydc.org.
Founded in 1990 by a group of visionary community leaders, the Youth Development Center (YDC) has served generations of young people from Winchester, Frederick County, and Clarke County. With deep roots and even deeper impact, YDC continues to be a safe, inclusive, and energizing space where youth are seen, supported, and inspired to grow.
